Our Young Children’s Community

Our young children, ages 18 months to 3 years, are welcomed into the Young Children’s Community, thoughtfully prepared to support the child as mobility and language rapidly unfold.

Within this carefully designed environment, children engage in purposeful work that supports developing coordination, independence, and early language. The space nurtures social connection, language enrichment, hands-on exploration, and the natural drive toward repetition, a key element of early learning.

Children are also active participants in caring for their indoor and outdoor environments, fostering responsibility, confidence, and a growing sense of belonging.

At this stage, the concept of choice becomes central. The freedom to select work based on individual interest allows concentration, self-confidence, and independence to deepen and expand.

Each day follows consistent and predictable rhythms, supporting security while allowing for individual growth and emerging independence.

Daily time outdoors offers rich opportunities for movement, sensory exploration, and connection with the natural world.
