Our New World Community
The New World Community serves children ages 6 to 9, a period of remarkable social, intellectual, and imaginative growth.
At this stage, children become deeply social beings and begin to think with increasing abstraction. Work is primarily self-directed, with guides offering small group and individual presentations followed by extended periods of independent and collaborative exploration within a mixed-age community.
Through careful observation, guides support each child’s development by nurturing emotional wellbeing, social awareness, and academic growth.
Traditional Montessori materials and methods are thoughtfully integrated across our indoor and outdoor environments. The natural world becomes an essential extension of the classroom, enriching studies in geography, biology, history, language, arithmetic, and geometry.
Cosmic Education guides the child toward a broader understanding of the universe and humanity’s place within it. Through stories, inquiry, and discovery, children explore the formation of the universe, the evolution of life, and the ways humans meet their needs through cooperation and communication.
Art, music, movement, and grace and courtesy remain central elements of the experience, supporting the development of the whole child.
Our approach cultivates curiosity, responsibility, and a growing sense of connection, nurturing children as global citizens, peacemakers, and stewards of the environment.
