Welcome to Crossway Montessori Forest School
Offering children, infancy to age 9, a full-day, hands-on outdoor Montessori learning experience in nature.
A Natural Beginning for Lifelong Learning
At Crossway Montessori, we cultivate every child’s natural desire to learn through a full-time, hands-on experience in both indoor and outdoor environments. From infancy through age 9, children grow in confidence, independence, and joy as they explore gardens, woodlands, and classrooms inspired by the Montessori philosophy.
Research shows that nature-based Montessori programs support:
Stronger attention and executive function
Higher self-confidence and motivation to learn
Deeper academic foundations, especially in language and math
A lifelong love of discovery
Our Programs
We offer carefully prepared environments for children at every stage:
Nido (3–18 months) – A nurturing “nest” where infants develop trust, movement, and early independence.
Young Children’s Community (18 months–3 years) – Gentle transitions that foster social, emotional, and practical life skills.
Children’s House (3–6 years) – A classic Montessori environment where children develop concentration, literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving.
New World Community (Grades 1–3) – Our growing elementary program, where children extend their learning into abstract reasoning, research, and collaborative projects.
School hours: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 3:00 PM
Optional Afternoons of Joyful Discovery (AJD): 3:00 – 5:00 PM, five days a week
